The event is hosted by the Sedona Public Library and Sedona Dance Academy. Everyone from Sedona homes is welcome, and the event is free. The event will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with a performance by dancers from Sedona Dance Academy. They’ll also be giving dance instruction to all participants who would like it. This is a wonderful all-ages event that brings the community together for fun, fresh air and exercise, and meeting new friends.

Sedona Dance Academy offers a full range of dance classes to kids from Sedona homes. They can start out with Mommy & Me dance classes that focus on coordination and having fun. The Sedona Hi-Points tour is two hours long. You’ll make several stops and have time to take photos at Bell Rock, Chapel of the Holy Cross, and Airport Mesa, among other well-known places. Ride in comfort in an air-conditioned luxury van. Your tour guide will be able to tell you lots of local history and answer any questions you have. Tickets are $39 for riders age 13 and older; $24 for riders ages three to 12; and $12 for riders two years old and under. If you have a child who needs a car seat, be sure to bring yours along.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Society’s historic Schuerman Homestead House restoration project. Everyone who attends will receive a SWAG bag and there will also be door prizes. Learn about the History of Cowboys and Native Americans Near Your Sedona Home

The movie shown will be Broken Arrow, which is a 1950 American Western film. Those starring in the film include James Stewart, Jeff Chandler, and Debra Paget. The movie is based on the historical figures of Cochise and Tom Jeffords, however their story is fictionalized. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards, and it won a Golden Globe for Best Film Promoting Understanding. This is the first major western movie since WWII to portray Native Americans sympathetically, according to film historians.

Not only is this a film that relates to National Day of the Cowboy, this film is also connected to Sedona because it was filmed in the area. The panel discussion will talk about this film and how it fits in with Sedona movie history. Stories will be shared about the making of the film and Hollywood’s introduction to modern Native Americans. After the panel discussion, there will be a screening of the vintage film. Aqua fitness classes are a great way for those living in a Sedona property to stay or get fit. Aqua fitness, Aqua yoga, and Aqua Zumba® classes are available at 570 Posse Grounds Rd. in Sedona.
